Inspired by the inauguration of the Tutankhamun Galleries at the Grand Egyptian Museum, the Tutankhamun Necklace evokes the stunning jewellery found among the treasures of the young king’s tomb. Central to the piece is a carved scarab, a golden disc between its forelegs symbolizing the sun-god Ra, and the basket-shaped neb symbol below it. Together, these elements represent King Tutankhamun’s Throne Name, ‘Neb-kheperu-ra’. The exquisitely feathered wings of the god Horus on either side of the scarab sweep around to form an almost complete circle, offering divine protection. A signature Azza Fahmy double chain completes the 18kt Gold and Sterling Silver necklace with the two parts linked by a representation of the djed pillar, reinforcing the promise of strength, endurance, and eternal blessing.
